Introducing Direct Response Coordinator, Jon Edwards

I’m Jon Edwards, not to be confused with the former Vice Presidential candidate, and I’m the new Direct Response Coordinator here at Progrexion. I have officially been with Progrexion a whopping one whole week now! I came straight here from Utah State University, I mean quite literally—I started here during finals week. So now I can officially say that I graduated from USU with a degree in Marketing.

I am a native of Logan and happily married to the most wonderful woman. In my spare time I love things that involve sports. I’m especially a big football fan. The past few years have been strangely good with my 49ers finally making it to the Super Bowl after so many disappointing seasons.  Also, I can’t say enough about how thrilled I am that USU is headed to the Poinsettia bowl, making it three straight seasons with a bowl game. In addition to football, I am also an avid skier. I’ve been skiing since I was four, and I have spent more time at Beaver Mountain each winter than I care to admit.

As far as marketing is concerned, I was first drawn to it while studying abroad in Asia. I spent time in a number of cities in Vietnam, China, and South Korea visiting a variety of businesses. I quickly became fascinated with their marketing strategies and realized how dependent a company’s success is on marketing. I began to see that regardless of how fantastic a product or service may be, without great marketing it might never get off the ground. It was after this experience that I decided to take the plunge and see what marketing was all about.

While studying marketing at USU, I realized that marketing was everywhere. The key to success is making your message stand out in way that really resonates with your audience. In an effort to learn more about this, I decided to head to Washington D.C. to spend some time learning from some of the most persuasive people I could think of—lobbyists. I learned all about the inner workings of the legislative process and the power written and verbal language can have when presenting solutions. I worked on a wide variety of issues preparing briefing packets for congressional offices and attended meetings on Capitol Hill. Through these experiences, as well as creating a website and a marketing plan for the firm I was with, I gained so many valuable skills and experiences that will benefit me the rest of my life.

I am so thrilled to join Progrexion Marketing and to work on the remarketing team. I’m excited to work with those who, for whatever reason, were not inspired to sign up during their first interaction. It creates a unique opportunity and challenge to present a compelling case to these individuals that will be appealing enough to elicit a positive response. Exciting stuff!
