Recently our team listened to a TED Talk by Dan Gilbert about Happiness. This has provoked me to think a lot about my happiness in the work place as well as my happiness at home and in my personal life. We were asked the question, what is your ideal happiness? Our team came up with some pretty great answers and while I still stand by my original answer, I have thought about this a lot in the last few weeks and have tweaked my answer a bit so I can be happy more often. I want to achieve that attainable ideal happiness on a regular basis! Read More
The Seattle Seahawks are defending their Super Bowl championship after their comeback win against the Green Bay Packers over the weekend. The Marlins are not in the World Series this year. So why was a guy sitting right behind home plate during the first game of the series wearing a Marlins jersey? He sure made a splash on social media last night during game one of the series. You couldn’t help but notice the guy in the bright orange in a crowd of royal blue any time a player stepped up to the plate. After some research, it sounds like the man is Laurence Leavy who is a loyal Marlins season ticket holder and is a huge sports fan. He simply said that he wears Marlins gear everywhere he goes. He just loves being a part of any sporting event and sports play a big role in his life. So why are people talking about it and making it such a big deal? Read More
In my last year in college, a friend of mine approached me and asked me to advertise for his company by placing a vinyl sticker on my car. I was actually compensated a small sum monthly by adding the sticker to my back window. The sticker had the name of the company, a link to the website and a phone number for their business office. Being in college, a few extra dollars each month was definitely useful and I didn’t mind. I was attending college in a small town in Idaho and he had 2 other people place his advertisement on their car as well.
The business was for house rental listings in that small college town. I was studying marketing and advertising at the time and I was curious as to how the advertisement was performing. I asked him a month after placing the sticker on my car how it was going and it had significantly increased the traffic on his website and drove several more calls per week from potential clients. I was impressed. Read More
As a consumer, survey’s can be quite annoying and frustrating. Some are too long and some just seem pointless. Why do companies promote and then pay you or offer incentives to take a survey? Simple. The information they get from survey’s can be an extremely powerful tool for them. You may never know the problems or concerns of your clients if you never ask.
There are a lot of people that do not take a survey seriously so when you analyze results, it is important to weed out those types and really dig into the information and feedback clients give you. The best information comes from people seeking to give you feedback on your company, service, experience or product.
An online affiliate has been in the industry for 42 years that I have personally spoken to. Yes, 42 years! I wish I was joking but this guy said he was the real deal and unfortunately I have had other similar phone conversations with potential affiliates that have just done it all. I spoke to a gentleman not too long ago that actually told me he deserved a better service than what we would give his clients that he referred. I reiterated that we provide the best service for our clients no matter how they come to us, and if they refer business to us or not. Of course we want our affiliates to have a great experience, but also to motivate them to send business, but all of our clients deserve the best service we can provide.
I don’t know many people that love to give presentations, and I guarantee I am not one of them. Most people have a fear of speaking in front of other people in a large or even small group. There is only a small portion of people that get a thrill for that kind of adrenaline, or even look forward to it. NOT ME. I dread putting together a presentation, because I want to make sure I don’t stumble over my words (which I often do) and also to make sure I don’t put my audience to sleep. Presentations, just like blog posts, start with a main idea or purpose and then evolve from there.
As an affiliate manager, I appreciate the people that do their research on our affiliate program as well as other programs. People want the best product and service and the only way to make that happen is to do explore all possible companies, brands and products. I like telling people about our affiliate program and I enjoy even more when telling them what makes us different from other affiliate programs.
My husband and I just recently got a puppy and it definitely comes along with a lot of responsibility. There are a lot of things in life that come with great responsibility and sometimes that is seen as a burden instead of an opportunity. I could think of the bad sides to having a dog and even more so with a new puppy with all the training and effort that comes with that, however there are so many good things that come with it as well. I like to look on the bright side of things and realize the worst is only a small portion of it and the love and excitement from my puppy, Lucy, makes it all worth it.
I am a huge college football fan. I have gone to games at the University of Utah since I was a child. I have always enjoyed the game and even wanted to be an offensive coordinator when I was 13. I absolutely love college football but when it comes to the NFL, I am completely lost. I don’t feel like I have a “team” to cheer for so maybe that is why my interest in it lacks a little. I seem to gravitate towards teams who have players that I knew from their college days.
